Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' new TV spot puts the focus on Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) variants. Marvel Studios has just dropped the first proper trailer for Sam Raimi's upcoming MCU film at Super Bowl LVI. The first trailer initially premiered in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home before releasing online.

MCU's main sorcerer was involved in Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) recent adventure in Spider-Man: No Way Home. But as the Jon Watts-directed film teased, Doctor Strange will return to the franchise, and fans don't have to wait that long for his next outing as his sequel is set to premiere in May 2022. Not much is known about its plot specifics, but based on marketing materials for the blockbuster, it will feature at least three variants of the character — What If…? 's Strange Supreme, Defender Strange, and Sacred Timeline's Doctor Strange.

Now, fans can see more of them in a brand new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness TV spot from Marvel Studios (via Wanda). Rolling out during Super Bowl LVI, the clip clocks in at just 30 seconds and is a flurry of footage from the film. Despite being a shorter video, the new TV spot includes some of the trailer's most memorable moments, including Patrick Stewart's Professor X return. Some might wonder why Marvel Studios decided to roll it out both a trailer and a TV spot during Super Bowl LVI. However, chances are that this shorter video is geared towards the broader audience who might have been overwhelmed with how dense the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer was. At this point, fans are already invested in the film and are assured to catch it when it hits theaters in a few months. Now, Disney is attempting to reach out to casual moviegoers in case they still aren't sold on the flick.

Strange Magic – Doctor Strange

One particularly interesting bit in this Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness TV spot, however, was the voice at the end. It wasn't in the film's full trailer, so it's unclear who it might be. Some suggest that it's Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo who returns to the MCU after the original Doctor Strange film, but it doesn't seem like it. The narration also doesn't sound like Stewart, which means that it could be someone that hasn't physically appeared in any of the marketing for the blockbuster.
